Hail State Diamond Dawgs

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are national champions. It’s the first time that any team that has hailed from Starkville can make that claim. The Diamond Dawgs defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores in dominant fashion in game three of the College World Series in a 9-0 affair. Will Bednar and Landon Sims combined for a one-hit shutout of the Commodores, who just couldn’t seem to anchor down its defensive troubles in games two and three of the championship series after winning game 1 by a score of 8-2.

Vandy Boys One Win Away from 3rd CWS Title

The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Mississippi St. Bulldogs 8-2 in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday night and are on the doorstep of their 3rd College World Series title. Another win on Tuesday night would seal back to back national titles (as there was no CWS champion in 2020 due to COVID19).

Hail State Wins, Face Vandy Boys in Final

Tanner Leggett’s timely base knock scored Brayland Skinner as No. 7 Mississippi State defeated No. 2 Texas 4-3 on a walk-off Saturday.

The Bulldogs will face the Vanderbilt Commodores in the College World Series finals (Game 1 is Monday night) in a best of three faceoff after the “if necessary” game that the Anchor Down crew forced on Friday afternoon was declared to be a “no contest” by the NCAA and the North Carolina St. Wolfpack was removed from the tournament due to COVID-19 contact tracing protocols.
